The current Octopus and Nemo OS version is 1.62.00 Please consult the OS Release Notes document for more details.

To update your machine please follow the instructions in the OS Release Notes document.

Also, please be aware that if the MIDI SysEx update fails, leaving your machine seemingly dead, you will need to perform the OS update via the USB port.

The update requires one of the following MIDI System Exclusive files. Please be sure to pick the correct file for your machine and current OS:

Octopus updating from OS version 1.42 (only!):   OCT_OS_v160_from_v142.syx

Octopus updating from all other OS versions:       OCT_OS_v162.syx

Nemo updating from all prior OS versions:            NEMO_OS_v162.syx

Source code
The Octopus OS and Nemo OS are open source under a GNU/GPL licence. The source code is hosted on Sourceforge. Compilation documentation is available here. The adapted eCos libraries are available here.

Console connection and OS Update via the USB port
Octopus and Nemo provide an USB port that may be used for service purposes. This document describes how to connect to the machine console and how to perform an OS update using the USB port. However, our recommended procedure for OS update is via MIDI SYSEX (System Exclusive).
